CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR LA BUENA VIDA FUNDRAISER
La Buena Vida Adult Day Centers, which is operated by Lutheran Social Services(www.LSSS.org), is planning its fifth annual fundraising event featuring an auction of wooden houses painted by area artists. The event will be March 12, 2009 at the El Paso Club.
Artists are encouraged to pick up one of the houses at the following locations: The Sunland Art Gallery inside Sunland Park Mall; The Art Junction, 500 W. Paisano; The Art Center, 3101 E. Yandell; The Rose & Crown Gallery, 3616 McRae; and Lutheran Social Services, 9640 Montwood.
This year, El Paso, Inc. will be choosing a house for their “Home Sweet El Paso” award. The winner will receive $200 and his or her house will be on the cover of the Lifestyle section of the Inc.
The houses will also be featured on the Lutheran Social Service web site. The deadline to submit finished work is February 11 for publicity and awards and the final day is March 6.
Last year’s event included over 80 houses and other silent auction items and helped raise over $20,000 for Buena Vida, which serves more than 225 elderly and disabled El Pasoans and their families.
