"The Utah Arts Council Public Art Program"
Announces a request for artist's qualifications and a letter of interest from artists and/or artist teams interested in creating site-specific art for the new State Court Facility in St. George, Utah. This project is open to artists living in the western US to include: Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Oregon and California.

"Iowa Department for the Blind"

The project is open to all artists living in the United States. Blind artists are encouraged to apply.
The Iowa Department for the Blind (IDB) is seeking one or two artists to create two works of art to be installed in their six-story building, which houses the Department's programs, including the Iowa Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, Adult Orientation and Adjustment Center, Vocational Rehabilitation, Access Technology, and Independent Living programs for blind and visually impaired Iowans, Business Enterprises Program, and the Department's accounting and administrative services. The artwork will be installed in two remodeled areas of the building, including the library's offices and the offices of vocational rehabilitation, independent living, and access technology staff. The art budget is $25,000 and includes all artist fees and expenses to design, fabricate, transport, and install the artwork. It's OK to be blind. The artwork commissioned for this project must reflect this positive philosophy of blindness. The art must also be fully accessible to blind persons. Two-dimensional visual art which has no other sensory components will not be considered. The artwork must also be visually appealing. The Iowa Arts Council is facilitating the Artist Selection and Design Proposal Phase of the project.
- Iowa artists currently registered in the Iowa Arts Council’s Iowa Public Art Artist Resource must email Bruce.Williams@iowa.gov by June 30, 2008, 4:30 pm (Central Daylight Time) if they want to be considered for this project. Registered artists are encouraged (but not required) to include in their email a 500 word statement explaining their interest and qualifications for this project. No other information is to be submitted.

Registration forms will be emailed to you and must be returned by June 30, 2008, 2008, 4:30 pm (Central Daylight Time). This is not a postmark deadline. Artists are encouraged (but not required) to include in their email a 500 word statement explaining their interest and qualifications for this project. Registration materials from Iowa artists will be added to the Iowa Public Art Artist Resource. The registration materials from non-Iowa artists will be retained by the Iowa Arts Council for one year.
